2002 SnowBird Nationals Feb. 6th-10th Orlando Florida This was SpeedMerchants first foray down to the SnowBird Nats. for this unusually formatted race. Featuring over 650 racers split up between road-course and oval in a 24 hour non-stop format, it looked to be a long week of racing. Congratulations to Mike Boylan, Ken Holmes, Dave Fox, Jim Fuller and the rest of the hard working crew for a well run race. So, how did the SpeedMerchant crew do down in sunny, warm Florida? How about 6 out of 10 cars in the Stock A Main as well as the TQ and the A Main Win! Congratulations to T.J. Bradley (TQ and Win), Paul Ciccarello, Alex Lopez, Bruce Carbone, Scott Ernst and Scott Jacques for thier dominating performance. Of special note we would really like to congratulate Paul Ciccarello for an excellent weekend of racing. Paul, who works for Parma/PSE, just started 1/12th scale racing at the beginning of this season. With hard work, strong ambition and a lot of practice, Paul has transitioned from beginner to National level racer in just a few short months! Great Job Paul. Also noteworthy was the performance by Scotty Ernst. Scotty, who is a very good Sedan driver decided to run 12th scale at the Snowbirds to help keep him busy inbetween sedan runs. He borrowed a Rev.3 from a friend back home, and with a lttle set-up help, he not only made the A Main, but was very competitive in doing so. Congratulations Scotty. Hopefully we see you at more 12th scale events. |
